An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
